The board also voted to authorize staff to submit the district’s intent to apply for the ADE ninth‑grade “On Track to Graduate” multiyear grant. District staff described the grant as a per‑pupil award (stated during the meeting as $150 per student per year for five years) and estimated the district’s potential award at about $200,000 based on current cohort counts. The motion to submit intent to apply carried 4–0.
Near the end of the evening the board moved to adjourn into executive session under ARS 15‑843 for pupil disciplinary proceedings (student expulsions/readmissions); that motion passed and the board recessed at 7:25 p.m.
