At the Oct. 21 Rules Committee meeting, members approved placing several noncontroversial items on next week’s full council agenda.
Under old business the chair moved to substitute an updated resolution that changes the date of a public hearing; the chair said the public hearing will be next week Tuesday at 6:15 p.m. The committee approved substituting the resolution and forwarded it for full council consideration.
In new business the committee accepted resolutions to proclaim November as Epilepsy Awareness Month, Lung Cancer Awareness Month, and Diabetes Awareness Month throughout Yonkers; each will appear on next week’s council agenda.
The committee also introduced a resolution to honorarily rename Ravine Avenue and Union Place as Sadie Oliver Way and asked the clerk to set a public hearing for Nov. 11 at 6:15 p.m. in the council chambers. That item will remain in committee until the hearing is held.
No votes on substantive policy were taken in committee; items were scheduled for public hearings or referred to the full council.
