Provisional ballots change close Northwickley race by one vote; assessor appeals spike

Speaker 5, from the solicitor's office, updated the board on post-election and assessment activity. "There was a provisional ballot... It looks like that there was a Victor by 1 vote in that particular race," Speaker 5 said, describing a tie in a Northwickley Township supervisors contest that was resolved after counting five provisional ballots.
Speaker 5 also reported an unusually high number of assessment appeals: "we are continuing to get appeals, from assessment appeals for over 373 assessment appeals, which is higher than where we've been," Speaker 5 said, adding that the county had previously exceeded 500 during a reassessment period.
No final rulings or board votes were taken at the work session; Speaker 5 said the solicitor's office and elections staff were continuing to process appeals and any outstanding election matters.
