Beaver County parking garage work slowed by weather and contractor nonresponse, official says

Speaker 3 (Dan) gave the board an update on the county parking garage construction. "Obviously, we're experiencing some cooler temperatures now, but... we're supposed to warm back up into the 50, so they will be able to continue on with the construction," Speaker 3 said, noting the weather forecast should allow crews to resume work.
Speaker 3 added the county sent a letter and has not had a substantive response from the contractor. "We sent a letter out... we still have not heard," Speaker 3 said, adding that staff meet with the contractor each Friday and had seen some activity around the site but have had difficulty reaching occupants to confirm whether nearby units are occupied.
Board members asked whether occupancy or other conditions limit the county's options; Speaker 3 said staff have tried on-site outreach and will continue monitoring and engaging with the contractor to determine when and how to move forward.
No formal action was taken at the work session; staff will continue weekly coordination with the contractor and return with any recommended next steps if the lack of response continues.
