Finance committee approves $15 rush fee for property-status letters
Summary
Muskego City’s finance committee approved a new $15 rush fee Nov. 11 for real-property-status requests, bringing the total for same-day property status letters to $50 (base $35 + $15 rush); staff said rush requests strain staff capacity and sometimes require overtime.

The Muskego City Finance Committee voted Nov. 11 to establish a rush fee for real-property-status requests commonly requested by real estate title companies and realtors.
S6, City staff member, explained that the city’s standard charge for a real-property-status letter is $35 and that the proposed rush fee would add $15 to that amount, making a $50 total for expedited requests. "There are a lot of instances where title companies call us and say, 'I need this today or tomorrow,' and it is a very big strain on our staff," S6 said, noting the new fee is intended to cover staff overtime and reprioritization.
Committee members clarified the fee structure and voted to approve the resolution by voice vote. The committee recorded the approval as passed.
