Commission hires DECOG to update county comprehensive plan for $2,500

Commissioners voted to contract with the Dakota Economic Development Organization (DECOG) and planner Eric Singer to develop an updated county comprehensive plan for a fee of $2,500. Singer told the board much of the legwork had already been completed over the summer and the fee covers assembling and formalizing the plan for commission consideration.
The zoning board and staff will receive Singer’s draft and the plan will be subject to required public review and the board’s readings before adoption. Commissioners noted the update is intended to clarify long‑range infrastructure, land‑use and development goals for the county and directed staff to integrate zoning input and a public outreach schedule.
