The Board of County Commissioners approved a conditional use permit for a cellular tower proposed by Tillman Infrastructure LLC at a property listed as 753 Vincent Avenue in Victoria.

David McDaniel, chairman of the Joint Planning Commission, told the commission the JPC held a public hearing Oct. 22, the petitioners presented their case, and the statutory protest period closed Nov. 5 with no protests. “There was a protest period until November 5. That protest period passed with no comments and no protests,” McDaniel said.

The motion to adopt Resolution 2025‑19, approving CUP 2539 to allow construction of a telecommunications tower and associated equipment on the parcel, was made, seconded and approved by a 3‑0 vote. A commissioner noted community benefit from increased cellular reception: “The more towers out there, the better…when you get reception, cell phone, whatever it is, that, them few minutes mean a life,” one commissioner said during discussion.

No conditions or protest contingencies were recorded in the packet explanation presented to the commissioners. The Joint Planning Commission had recommended approval at its public hearing and the county commission accepted that recommendation with a formal resolution.

The resolution passed and staff were thanked for the joint process; no appeals or next steps were announced at the meeting.
