The Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly Committee of the Whole on Oct. 2 heard staff reports on four proposed road service-area annexations that would add parcels to existing maintenance districts and trigger one- or two-part elections.
Rural Services Division staff Michael Bradley told the committee the proposals range from a 4-parcel, one-part election for Violet Drive to a 50-parcel petition off Sheep Creek Road. He said the Bluebird Road annexation would add 16 parcels and 0.43 miles, producing a projected $2,709 increase in revenue (about $6,300 per mile) against the service area's current budget of roughly $20,121 per mile. "Projected revenue would increase by $2,709 if this election was to pass," Bradley said.
