Rome council approves skate-park CREST grant application, multiple property sales and several donations

The Rome Common Council on Nov. 12 carried a package of resolutions and ordinances that included a grant application for the SFM skate park, multiple small property sales, and the acceptance of donations.
Resolution 149 authorized the mayor to apply for and accept grant funds from the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) through the CREST program for the SFM skate park project in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000. The resolution was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
The council also accepted two $400 donations: Resolution 150 accepted $400 from the Rome Lions Club to support a movie screening at the Capitol Theater, and Resolution 151 accepted $400 from Aislin/Aislyn Jaskalka (donor name spelled inconsistently…
