Preservation staff told the Evansville Historic Preservation Commission on Nov. 12 that several staff-level approvals were issued since the prior meeting, including roof-repair documentation for 817 Southeast Riverside, an extension for repairs at an address listed as 8/615 Southeast Riverside Drive, approval for porch repair at 602 Southeast Riverside Drive, and attention noted for 715 South Willow.
During the staff update a person at the meeting briefly became unresponsive and attendees assisted the individual; the commission recessed while the person was attended to and later resumed after confirming the individual was all right.
Under old business, staff reported the demolition/boarding-neglect ordinance remains pending approval by the mayor’s office; no further action or direction was recorded. Commissioners also briefly recapped recent neighborhood events (porch fest/torch fest) and then adjourned the meeting.
No votes on funding or ordinance language were taken during these updates. Staff said a two-month staff-level approval update will be provided in December.
