Students and directors thank board for Prop 28 funds and renovated music rooms

"Both rooms were fully equipped to meet the needs of our current and future Gryphons," Padilla said, thanking assistant principal Blake Hypok and site administrators for project coordination.
Jacob Buchen, the other instrumental music director, listed new equipment purchases — including timpani and higher‑quality brass — and noted the programs also budget for yearly servicing and upkeep. Faith Vasconcelos, orchestra booster president, confirmed boosters and district funding combined to purchase instruments and invited the board to upcoming concerts (including a Nutcracker performance).
Why it matters: Board members praised voter support for Prop 28 and local bond measures as enabling one‑time and ongoing investments in arts facilities. District staff said they are earmarking more than $12 million for a planned PAC renovation, and trustees called continued community support essential to sustain arts programming.
