The Woodland Park School District RE‑2 Board of Education recognized the Woodland Park Senior High cross‑country team during its regular meeting. Coach Cantrell introduced athletes and reviewed the season’s highlights, praising steady improvements in personal records and the team’s regional and state finishes.

Cantrell singled out several athletes for large personal improvements; he said freshman Emil Guthrie ran a 5K PR of 17:48 and that other athletes improved by minutes over the season. He noted the boys finished fifth in the regional meet and that freshman Titus (last name not specified) finished ninth and was the top freshman at that regional meet. "They're really the elite among the elite," Cantrell said of the athletes.

Board members stood with athletes to recognize the team and thanked Coach Cantrell for his work with student‑athletes. The board’s recognition was ceremonial and the team was applauded by meeting attendees.
