FJUHSD board sets Dec. 9, 2025 organizational meeting, adopts 2027–28 calendar and policy updates

The Fullerton Joint Union High School District Board of Trustees on Tuesday set Dec. 9, 2025 as the district’s annual organizational meeting date and took several governance actions, approving the 2027–28 pupil attendance calendar and adopting revised board policies.

During the meeting the board cited Education Code requirements (as presented in the staff report) that govern the timing of an annual organizational meeting. A trustee moved to establish Dec. 9, 2025 as the organizational meeting date; the motion passed by voice vote recorded as 5–0 after a preferential vote by student board member Ari.

Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources (presenting the calendar) said the proposed 2027–28 pupil attendance calendar had been shared with component school districts, staff, employee organizations and posted on the district website for stakeholder review; no concerns were reported and trustees adopted the calendar by unanimous vote.

Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services Carl Zenner presented revisions to district board policy that the staff said were required periodically to reflect changes in law and district organization. The policies adopted on second reading included uniform complaint procedures, nondiscrimination, lactation accommodation, prohibitions on harassment, and policies concerning married, pregnant and parenting students. Zenner said that upon adoption the policies become effective immediately. The board approved those policy revisions by voice vote 5–0.

The board also approved the consent calendar and other routine items later in the meeting.
