Elections office reports results and plans move to annex ahead of March voting period

WALLER COUNTY, Texas — Elections Administrator Christie (speaker 5) reported official results from the recent constitutional-amendment election and outlined plans to relocate and expand the county's elections operations ahead of future contests.
Christie told the court that 6,197 voters participated in the most recent election and that registered-voter rolls have increased to about 44,983, up roughly 5,517 from 2023 totals. She also reported local results: all 17 statewide constitutional amendments passed in Waller County; a county assistance district proposal failed; Royal ISD passed two bonds and narrowly failed a third by 12 votes.
Christie said the elections office will move to the annex, consolidating early-voting operations and equipment in one place and creating permanent early-voting stations. She recommended adding voting machines to handle growth in the south end of the county and reviewed operational choices about posting partial versus final results on election nights.
Commissioners thanked Christie and discussed timelines for equipment moves and preparations for the March voting period.
