Brian Kastrzak (Port Milwaukee engineering) and Maria Cartier (market development) summarized an easement for a relocated MMSD combined sewer overflow outfall and an easement for underground electrical service to support shore power for vessels, the latter tied to an agricultural export facility expansion (DeLong). Port staff said DeLong paid for the relocation and We Energies is not being charged an easement fee because the shore power service will directly serve vessels that pay for service.
The committee also approved an extension to South Harbor Milwaukee LLC’s lease, a new or restated 30‑year lease with Compass Minerals America (formerly North American Salt Company) covering about 10 acres, and two Cargill parcel lease files (parcel A and parcel B) with modest rent increases and periodic five‑year termination opportunities. Port staff said these tenants are long‑term, bring commodity handling and economic activity, and that the harbor commission had approved the files at its prior meeting.
Committee members asked about fees, economic development, and termination windows; the items were ordered without objection.
