Doral council defers floodplain ordinance, approves consent agenda and minutes

The mayor then noted a change in the order of business and asked council to defer item 6q. The City Manager explained the current agreement with USSI "is set to expire in November" and said staff will work with the provider to extend services and "bring that extension back to council next month for approval retroactively."
Councilwoman Reynoso moved to approve the consent agenda (all section 6 items except 6a, 6n and 6q). "Motion to approve by councilwoman Reynoso," the record shows; the motion was seconded by Councilman Binetto and the chair declared the consent agenda passed unanimously. Councilman Reynoso then moved to approve the minutes; Councilman Pinedo seconded and the minutes likewise passed by voice vote.
What happens next: staff will return in December with revised language for the floodplain ordinance after addressing the state agency's comments, and will present the proposed short-term extension for the USSI agreement for retroactive approval at the next regular meeting.
