Lancaster ISD outlines 15-initiative plan to apply for Lasso Cycle 4 grants

Dr. Knight presented Lancaster ISD's strategic plan to apply for the Lasso Cycle 4 grant opportunity and introduced Melinda Cardenas of Sustain Ed Leaders to detail prioritized initiatives.
"Lasso Cycle 4 is an opportunity for districts to receive extra funding and support for key initiatives such as curriculum and instruction, education and training and inspiring new innovative school models," Cardenas said.
The district highlighted three curriculum-support grants (LIFT and School Improvement PLC among others), educator-preparation allotments including a $10,000 residency supplement per teacher resident and a "grow your own" tuition reimbursement of at least $8,000, mentor stipends, and a Texas strategic staffing for residencies grant (the transcript referenced $58,400 in prior participation). The application package also identified ATSI for expanded summer learning, a School Action Fund application to help campuses raise performance ratings, and a virtual/hybrid program planning accelerator.
Dr. Knight asked trustees to approve the district's strategic plan so staff can submit the single comprehensive application at the next regular meeting.
Trustees did not take a formal vote at the work session; staff requested board approval to place the application on the regular meeting agenda.
