At its Nov. 12 meeting the Mobridge City Council approved several personnel and consent items, including police step increases, a sidewalk‑waiver request, liquor‑license renewals and building repairs.
Captain Youngworth reported personnel actions for the police department: a step increase for Officer Kyle Brown from $24.26 to $25.26 per hour (effective Sept. 22, 2025), approval of new dispatcher Kiara Schmeichel at $21.18 per hour (effective Oct. 13, 2025), and a step increase for Officer Emily Desirza. Each personnel action was approved by the council by roll call.
Dan and Jackie Hall presented a written petition and asked the council to waive the sidewalk requirement for 1909 Kennedy Drive, citing large pine trees and limited pedestrian traffic; the council agreed to waive the sidewalk and approved resolution 25‑12. The council also approved liquor‑license renewals for 2026 for a list of local businesses (packet provided), approved cemetery deed transfers that were in the packet, and approved a $15,930 quote from Midcontinental Restoration to repair failing brickwork at the Shear Howe facility (staff said the repair is not budgeted and will require a supplemental appropriation).
The council also approved a $1,500 increase to the library computer budget to accept a WRT grant and approved payment of the bills as presented. The meeting adjourned after routine motion and roll call votes on the consent items.
These actions passed unanimously by roll call unless otherwise noted.
