Miss Dennis told the Community Appearance Board that the city will consolidate previously planned events into a single Arbor Day celebration on Dec. 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature food trucks, a kids' corner, giveaways promoting native wildflowers, and a mayoral proclamation at the terrace; staff invited board members to attend as the tree board.
Dennis also said Hillary Howard with Downtown Live will host a ribbon cutting for the Laurel Street "move that trolley" mural on Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. She reminded members that the board will not meet again until December and wished everyone a happy Thanksgiving.
No public comments were made during the announcements. Staff provided small promotional giveaways and encouraged attendance at both events.
