Chair Leticia opened the Super Neighborhood Alliance’s November meeting by announcing a $1,000 sponsorship from Clearing House CDFI to support the Alliance’s December holiday meeting: “we have received a sponsor that will contribute a thousand dollars,” she said.
The funds are earmarked for food and beverage at the in‑person event the Alliance plans to hold at 11903 Bel Air Boulevard (Bel Air and South Kirkwood). Chair Leticia said the group will stretch the amount and will share the updated agenda and meeting notices by email. She also said the sponsor asked for 20 minutes to present on the role of community development financial institutions and how they can support local communities.
Members reacted positively to the sponsorship and asked for clarification about the acronym; Leticia read the name aloud and explained the acronym stands for Community Development Financial Institution. Several members welcomed the chance to hear what the CDFI does and how it might help neighborhoods.
The Alliance’s secretary, Amy Denton, will send the updated agenda and meeting notices. Chair Leticia said the December meeting will be a light, celebratory agenda that includes the sponsor presentation and may include a facility tour, pending final details.
The next procedural steps are for staff to send the formal notice and updated agenda ahead of the December meeting and to confirm the sponsor’s presentation length and content.
