Board approves Measure H budget reimbursements, DSA closeout services and Era Vista playground work

The Brea Olinda Unified School District board approved several facilities and bond‑related actions tied to Measure H and facility maintenance.
Administration said the district’s general fund had advanced $254,995 for Measure H–related work and the board approved a budget transfer to reimburse the general fund after bond sales. "Because these are interim costs, we will now reimburse the general fund," staff said.
The board also approved an agreement with Project Support Services Inc. for Division of the State Architect (DSA) closeout services. Staff reported three projects have been closed with paperwork and four applications remain open, including an outfield fence issue at the high school and aged portables at Country Hills and Laurel elementaries. The timeline depends on DSA review; staff said they will report back about any budget impacts.
On construction contracts, trustees authorized a contract with Dimension General Construction Inc. for sidewalk and fencing work and a separate contract with Pacific Play Systems Inc. to replace the TK and primary play structure at Era Vista Elementary. Staff said the playground equipment was not age‑compliant and site work is planned to address access and safety. The motions passed unanimously.
No immediate operational changes to fields or programming were announced; staff said they will update the board as DSA processes and project schedules progress.
