Custer County commissioners approved a set of budget amendments and a separate transfer to cover inmate housing costs.
Finance staff said resolutions 25‑41 through 25‑44 backfill insurance lines that were estimated before open enrollment was finalized. The amendments move $92,663.22 into the 10 fund, $55,260.40 (and $0.40) into the 20 Road & Bridge fund, $100 into the emergency management 60 fund, and $35,000 into the DHS 70 fund. The board moved and approved those resolutions.
The board then considered resolution 25‑45 to move $30,000 from the general fund into the custody‑of‑prisoners line to cover housing of inmates (the board learned the sheriff’s housing line will be overdrawn without the transfer). Commissioners approved the transfer by voice vote.
Votes at a glance: Resolutions 25‑41–25‑44 (insurance backfill) — approved; Resolution 25‑45 (custody of prisoners, $30,000) — approved.
