Volunteer presents trails passport plan; commission eyes NHACC/UNH outreach application

Emma, a volunteer, briefed the Brentwood Conservation Commission on the trails passport project and design progress.
She said Stephanie Lewenden is helping with brochure and marker design and reported a printing quote of about $200 for five trail markers, and proposed prizes and outreach through the school and recreation programs. "I had a quote for, like, $200, I think, for 5 trail markers," Emma said.
Members discussed paying printing or marker costs from the conservation commission budget or coordinating in the budget committee. The commission noted the printing budget is open through year end and asked Emma to seek a commitment or invoice by then if possible.
Separately, the commission reviewed an outreach opportunity from the New Hampshire Association of Conservation Commissions (NHACC) and UNH Extension to host a 2026 public program that would showcase town-owned land and stewardship practices; applications are due Nov. 14. Members discussed potential host sites such as Split Rock or Newnimunga and agreed that applying is an inquiry rather than an obligation; Member 3 volunteered to prepare the application if staff provide details.
Next steps identified were to obtain final cost estimates for markers, seek printing support from the Conservation Commission, and complete the NHACC/UNH application before the Nov. 14 deadline.
