The Yonkers City Council Rules Committee on Oct. 7 considered two council-origin items and took procedural steps rather than final actions.
Council President presented a resolution to commemorate Oct. 2, 2025, as National Custodian Appreciation Day in the City of Yonkers. The committee agreed to place that resolution on next week's council meeting agenda.
Separately, the committee considered a community request to honorarily rename Runyon Avenue at Dunbar Street to "Milton R. Holst Way." The Council President said the item would remain in committee because a public hearing is required before a vote. No public comment or additional testimony was recorded in the transcript on the renaming request.
The Rules Committee closed the meeting after the council items and announced a special council meeting scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m.
