Clerk, child support, medical examiner and sheriff give routine updates; clerk joins statewide AI committee

The clerk reported three jury trials in Branch 2 handled by Judge Bonnet and noted small claims and family paternity case counts for the month.
Child support staff reported the office received state recognition and that performance remains steady; the office invited committee members to participate in Reality Day on 04/14/2026 and said details will be sent to department heads.
The medical examiner said cases were up slightly versus the previous month and that two conditional offers for a part‑time position have been issued pending preemployment checks.
The sheriff reviewed custodial vs. noncustodial case handling procedures and provided an update on a 3 Bridges program funded in part through opioid‑settlement grant dollars. The sheriff said the program is “very popular” in the jail and that early indications show good transition support for participants after release.
Chair noted the committee’s next meeting is scheduled for December 10 and adjourned the session at 10:37 a.m.
