Central Valley's technology director presented a proposed master lease with Apple on Nov. 12 to provide iPads for students and laptops for staff, saying the district could finance the equipment at 0% interest.
The director told the board the new lease would keep overall cost roughly the same with a "negligible decrease" and "won't have any impact on our borrowing power for the new bonds," pending review by the district solicitor. The presentation asked the board to approve the master lease schedule of equipment subject to that legal review.
No final vote on the lease was recorded during the work session; the item was presented for approval with the expectation that the solicitor would review the agreement before a formal action.
The board continued with other agenda items after the technology presentation.
