Bonner Milltown Council: unanimous support for PTA letters, playground updates and local signage

At its Nov. 10 meeting the Bonner Milltown Community Council unanimously authorized continuing letters of support for the Bonner School PTA’s grant applications for Phase 2 of the playground project.
A motion to permit standing support for future PTA grant submissions was made, seconded and passed by voice vote. Council members said the standing authorization will allow quick letters when grant application deadlines arise.
The council also reported that the county currently holds old playground equipment from Bonner School that could be repurposed at Red Barn/West Riverside; county staff will inspect the equipment for safety and notify the council if letters of support for installation are needed.
Other local updates included plans to hang an annual picnic banner (estimated banner cost ~$100) and efforts to secure signage for Piltzville and West Riverside. Members said outreach to Town Pump management yielded little interest in partnering, and noted a new Dollar General store nearing completion in the area; the council will continue attempts to engage local businesses on community involvement.

The council opened the meeting, approved the published agenda and approved minutes from the Oct. 13, 2025 meeting by voice vote. The next council meeting was set for Dec. 8, 2025 (hybrid). The meeting adjourned by motion.
