Laurie Sobel, sustainability and resiliency staff in the Middlesex County Office of Planning, asked member entities of the Lower Raritan Middlesex County Water Resources Association (WRA) to appoint voting representatives for calendar year 2026 as staff completes outreach to 47 member entities. Sobel said staff will continue to process appointment updates up to January.
Sobel also provided a status update on a sewer‑service‑area (SSA) site‑specific amendment application for HB Warehousing LLC, a proposed warehouse at 554 Old Water Works Road, Block 6303 Lot 9 in Old Bridge Township. She said a Board of County Commissioners public hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 19, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Middlesex County Commissioners meeting room at 75 Beyer Street in New Brunswick, and that a public comment period will remain open for 15 days after the hearing; interested parties may submit comments in accordance with the DEP New Jersey Register notice. Sobel said the SSA application had previously been endorsed by the WRA on Nov. 14, 2024 and by the Middlesex County Planning Board on Dec. 10, 2024 contingent on required permitting.
The announcement included directions for participation as described in the New Jersey Register notice for the amendment.
