Dave Wilkerson, president of the Canfield Rotary, read a club resolution honoring Patricia (Patty) Prince for 39 years of service as treasurer of Canfield Local Schools and recommended that the Rotary present her with the Paul Harris Fellow Award. "Whereas Patricia Prince has dedicated 39 years of exceptional service as treasurer of the Canfield Local Schools," Wilkerson read, citing Princes stewardship and contributions to district fiscal stability. Prince responded that the award was a surprise and thanked the Rotary and the board for the honor.
The board also recognized Coach Phil Simone and his soccer program. A proclamation read by a board representative commended Simone on reaching his 450th career win and praised his impact on student-athletes. Superintendent noted the milestone and welcomed the coach and players forward for the recognition.
Principals from the district presented student recognitions. Mark Potts, principal at Canfield High School, named senior Michael Pantalakis the High School Rotary Club Student of the Month, noting his 4.0 GPA, completion of 10 AP/CCP courses, leadership roles and STEM competition achievements. Judd Rubin presented Addie Dill as the Canfield Village Middle School Rotary Student of the Month; Travis Lavram presented Teddy Ward from CH Campbell Elementary; and Mike Flood presented Zane Schneider from Hilltop. The board read formal resolutions commending the girls tennis team and individual athletes for conference and sectional accomplishments and ordered the recognitions entered into the official minutes.
No formal action was required for the recognitions beyond the ceremonial proclamations and the boards recorded appreciation; the meeting proceeded to routine business following the presentations.
