Committee backs Marine Avenue one-way change to ease school drop-off congestion

"The neighborhood worked with the school to collect signatures in the surrounding neighborhood. We have a 50% threshold for that. They were able to get 65% of the residents located on Marine Avenue to agree with this direction change," she said. She told the committee KIPP already provides safety staffing during drop-off and that additional signage is planned to reduce confusion.
Committee members asked about safety during the transition and whether school staff would help manage traffic; Cox Antoine said KIPP conducts drop-off safety and signage would be added. There was no public testimony. The committee moved, seconded, and passed Board Bill 96 out of committee with a due-pass recommendation.
