Bradford council approves series of leases, grants and park purchases

Bradford — The Bradford City Council on an abbreviated agenda approved a set of consent and new-business items, including lease agreements for small manufacturers, several grants for housing and park projects, the purchase of aluminum bleachers for Callahan Park and the prepayment of a downtown microgrant.
The council opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and a roll call that recorded Mayor Ritter present. After approving the minutes from the October meeting, the council took up new-business items grouped on the agenda.
Mayor Ritter read agenda item 38136, authorizing city officers to execute a lease with Jason and Amy Myers, doing business as Alleghenywood Mouldings, for space at the Robert P. Hechtler Junior Business Development Center. The motion was seconded and approved.
The council then approved item 38137, a lease with Grama Munch doing business as Allegheny Fiber Arts at 62 Main Street; and item 38138, authorizing disposal of outdated Thompson Finance records.
The body approved item 38139 addressing parking arrangements during the Christmas holiday season and related accounts and finance actions.
On housing and grants, the council approved item 38140, a fair grant for Sharon Trapp for Lindsay Home repairs affecting 40 homes; the record did not specify a dollar amount for that grant. "Approved fair grant for Sharon Trapp for Lindsay Home repairs at 40 homes in place at OECD," S3 read as the item was considered.
The council authorized item 38141, a North Central Dreamlights implementation grant for replacement of the Vestry Bridge at Callahan Park, and accepted item 38142, a parks purchase quote for six sets of aluminum bleachers to be paid from the Trail and Recreation Fund.
The council also approved item 38143, the prepayment of the Peebom hometown grant for the historic downtown in the amount of $4,658.92 from OC's T-Mobile micro grant program. As read into the record by S3, "the prepayment of the Peebom hometown grant program for the historic downtown in the amount of $4,658.92 from OC's T Mobile micro grant program with city of Bradford Fire Department, Police City." The council approved the prepayment.
Departmental reports earlier in the meeting included an October Parks update in which S4 thanked "Pat for his continued dedication and creativity and trying to earn funding for the park system," citing recent changes to how concessions are purchased and sold. S2 presented the public works monthly report for October and the fire department report was noted.
All items on the agenda were approved and the council adjourned later in the meeting after a motion to adjourn was seconded and carried.
The meeting record includes approvals for several routine economic-development leases, small grants and park equipment purchases; specific funding amounts were not recorded for most items except the $4,658.92 prepayment for the downtown microgrant.
