The Cuyahoga Falls Board of Education approved the treasurer's consent agenda and a revised five‑year forecast at its Nov. 12 meeting after the district incorporated the results of a renewal levy that passed in the most recent election.
Treasurer/CFO Mr. Tucker told the board the forecast originally filed by the Oct. 15 statutory deadline had modeled the renewal; now that the renewal vote is final the forecast was resubmitted to the state with the levy included. "However, with the renewal levy, we're okay," Mr. Tucker said, explaining the revision satisfied the state’s solvency inquiry. The board approved the forecast by roll call.
The treasurer also noted a technical accounting matter: transfers for the LFI fund are considered expenditures and require appropriation increases in Fund 004. The consent agenda included multiple donations — including support from the Ben Curtis Family Foundation and classroom flags coordinated by Peggy Whitcomb — and the board expressed gratitude to donors.
What’s next: The treasurer said he will provide additional information at the upcoming capital conference and the district will move forward with routine financial administration now that the levy revenue is secured.
