Franklin County commissioners renew lease with Frontier Extension District No. 11

Franklin County commissioners voted unanimously Nov. 12 to renew a lease with Frontier Extension District No. 11, approving terms county staff said are consistent with recent agreements.
The renewal updates the county's lease for space and services used by the extension district. County staff described the agreement as an update that could have been placed on the consent agenda. "The lease speaks for itself. This is just an update," staff said during the presentation.
Rocco, representing the extension district, thanked the county for the office space and support but raised a concern about the proposed 2% annual escalator, saying "the 2% increase, annually seems a little bit high." County staff replied that the escalator was intended to avoid substantial one-time increases and has generally tracked or stayed below inflation in recent years.
A commissioner moved to renew the lease; the motion was seconded and carried on roll-call votes. One commissioner asked staff to return if the escalator became a problem in future years. The board took no further action beyond approval of the renewal.
