At the close of the Nov. 11 meeting, Planning Manager Steph reported that the Horizon 2045 growth-management plan won the Tennessee chapter of the American Planning Association’s Plan of the Year award for communities over 50,000.
Steph also updated commissioners on other projects: a county rezoning (Minga) was denied by the county; a consultant has been selected and contracting is underway for a noise and vibration study; and a downtown parking tactical urbanism pilot (temporary on-street parking trial and public outreach) produced feedback that staff are reviewing. Steph said a new planner would start Dec. 29 and that staff will circulate revised documents for review.
The report was informational; no formal action was taken.
