The council authorized staff to award the city’s bank depository contract to Texas National Bank after questions about the procurement prompted an executive session.
Staff reported eight proposals were received on Oct. 6, 2025, seven of which were responsive. A five-person evaluation committee (including one external consultant and four staff members) reviewed proposals in categories such as technology, services, earning potential, collateral and cost. Staff identified Texas National Bank as the highest ranked bidder and recommended awarding the contract for a term beginning Feb. 2, 2026 through Dec. 31, 2029. Several council members asked to discuss evaluation details in executive session; the council reconvened and approved the award.
Council noted the current depository is Texas National Bank and that staff and the interim city manager recommended award to Texas National Bank. The council recorded a motion, second and a voice vote approving the award. The motion carried and staff and the bank representatives exchanged thanks on the record.
