At a glance: RPS approves Head Start reports, ratified Teamsters contract and other routine items

Head Start report: Administrators reported Early Head Start at 54 of 56 slots filled and Head Start enrollment rising (staff cited dynamic daily enrollment, noting a discrepancy between packet numbers showing 405 enrolled in September and a higher contemporaneous figure of about 459). Board members asked for clarification about the differing figures; staff said enrollment is increasing daily as intakes are processed. The board moved and approved the Head Start program reports, minutes and financial statements (motion by Miss Ricard; second by Miss Rizzi).

Teamsters Local 592 contract: The board received for approval the already-ratified collective bargaining agreement for Teamsters Local 592 (which covers principals, assistant principals and directors) and approved it by recorded vote after a motion from Mister Percival.

Consent agenda: The board voted to approve the consent agenda (mover: Mister Hedgepeth; seconder: Mister Jafari). The package included program reports, policy council minutes and financial documents noted in the meeting packet.

Next steps: Board members requested a fuller vendor/contractor list ahead of the budget season, asked administration to provide historical subgroup academic data (suggested five-year trend reports) and to clarify study-hall support metrics for the Early College Academy. Administration agreed to follow up on those requests in future meetings.
