Demetrius Austin, speaking for Tesla, said the company has presented to Planning & Zoning and secured TxDOT support tied to federal plans to electrify roadway corridors; building permits were submitted and staff recommended approval. Austin said the stations would be publicly accessible and that non‑Tesla vehicles with compatible connectors would also be able to use the chargers.
Council moved and seconded the permit and approved it by voice vote. Staff noted applicants had submitted photos and designs and that permits were in progress; the council instructed staff to coordinate any right-of-way or permitting needs with TxDOT and city departments.
