Royal Palm Beach High JROTC reports parade, competition wins and Eagle Scout fundraising

Cadet leaders from Royal Palm Beach High School’s Navy JROTC reported recent activities to the Education Advisory Board on Nov. 10.
Cadet Senior Chief Petty Officer Mark Vieda said the unit participated in the West Palm Beach Veterans Day Parade and that the mayor marched with the cadets. He reported competition successes, including first-place finishes at recent academic competitions and qualification for state-level contests. "We are currently at a 145," a cadet said when asked about unit size, referring to the number of cadets in formation during the parade.
Chief Petty Officer Noah Pantaleo described travel to Key West and drill competitions where the unit placed third, and participation in a 5K run/walk to support breast-cancer awareness. Vieda said he raised $950 for his Eagle Scout project and is preparing to submit his application before his 18th birthday.
Board members thanked the cadets and encouraged them to return to future meetings to report updates on competitions and community events.
