Assistant Director Brett Scribner and Executive Director Dave Buzzard summarized project status: 2016 bond work includes 106 tracked projects (96 complete, 10 in progress); 2018 levy work shows 314 projects with 253 completed, 31 in progress and 30 not started. The November 2024 levy (approved by voters) is $97 million total with approximately $73 million allocated to capital projects to address emergent needs and health-and-safety priorities. Staff advised that they are in design with consultants on several projects and anticipate completing current levy projects by the 2028–29 fiscal year, subject to design and bidding timelines.
Priority capital items called out included the Scenic Hill multimedia center, Kent Ridge synthetic field installation, boiler replacements at several schools and energy-management upgrades including CO2 sensors and control-system replacements.
What happens next: Staff will provide a detailed running list of candidate projects for the next bond cycle and continue to post project spreadsheets on the district website; they anticipate public updates as projects move into construction.
