Planning commission continues two cannabis items to Dec. 11 and announces new resource planner hire

At the Nov. 13 meeting the Planning Commission granted continuances for two agenda items to the Dec. 11, 2025 meeting: a major use permit and CEQA item for Rancho Lake LLC requested by the applicant, and a county staff request to continue a proposed ordinance to amend Article 27 (commercial cannabis) of the Lake County Municipal Code. Applicant consultant Trey Sherrill requested the continuance to allow time to review new information; staff and the commission supported the scheduling.
Community Development Director Maria Turner also announced the department had hired a resource planner, Daniel Brincati, who is anticipated to start Jan. 26, 2026. The meeting adjourned following the staff update.
