Revere Local Board approves two part‑time aides and multiple substitute hires

The Revere Local Board of Education voted on Nov. 11 to approve two new part‑time, three‑hour educational aides for Bath Elementary and nine classified substitute hires the district recruited at an Oct. 21 job fair.

Mister Connolly outlined the personnel needs, saying the district had struggled to fill a full‑time position and instead hired two part‑time aides and multiple substitutes to meet operational needs. "So we'd like to make a motion to approve 1a and 1b," a board member said; another board member moved and a second was recorded. After a roll call the board chair announced, "Motion carries."

Connolly told the board the hires and substitute approvals were a direct result of recruiting at the job fair and credited district staff for filling difficult roles such as bus driver aides and cafeteria positions. The board did not discuss changes to staffing classifications or supplementals in depth during the vote; those items were presented separately for future action.

The vote on agenda items 1a and 1b was recorded in session and announced as carried; no amendments or abstentions were recorded on that motion.

The board continued with briefing items for upcoming meetings and then adjourned.
