The hiring motion was made by a member and seconded; the chair called the vote and recorded the motion as adopted. Chief (speaker 4) had recommended Nada after describing her performance as a public safety dispatcher and the near-complete status of her background check. "She has performed very well ... she is described by her supervisors as enthusiastic, calm, collected, and thorough," the chief said when presenting the recommendation.
Nada addressed the commission, describing her training and community relationships and saying she sees the role as a long-term fit. "I look at five years, 10 years," Nada said of her tenure prospects.
Commissioners offered congratulations after the vote. The commission recorded an expectation of about two weeks to finish the remaining background steps and noted a potential promotion timeline of about six months.
Because the hiring vote was taken after a closed executive-session discussion, the commission did not disclose further personnel or MOU details in the public record at the meeting. The commission adjourned at 6:09 p.m.
