Commission passes administrative map corrections to Comprehensive Growth Plan for three parcels

The Springfield Municipal Regional Planning Commission voted Nov. 6 to amend the city’s Comprehensive Growth Plan future land use map to correct mapping errors for three parcels in the Highland/Hayes area.
Staff said the amendment applies to 501 North Highland Street, 500 Hayes Street and 502 Hayes Street, which are currently used as residential but were mistakenly designated general commercial on the map. Miss Durham described the correction as administrative and consistent with existing development and the commission’s recent recommendation. "These are administrative updates, not policy changes, and staff recommends approval," she said.
Commissioners discussed consultant communication and noted the correction is limited to the three parcels identified at last month's meeting rather than a wholesale remapping. The item will move on to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen as part of the standard comp-plan amendment process.
Next steps: staff will forward the correction to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen for final action and recordation in the Comprehensive Plan documents.
