The Kane County Legal Affairs and Claims Committee met Nov. 13, 2025. The meeting was called to order at about 10:30 a.m., and the clerk was asked to call the roll.
Committee member Williams asked for unanimous consent to approve the minutes of July 10, 2025: "Williams would ask for unanimous consent for the minutes of 07/10/2025." Members in attendance responded in the affirmative and the chair confirmed approval.
Shortly after, the committee moved to close part of the meeting to the public to discuss pending litigation. "We'll go into closed session regarding pending litigation," said Roth when making the motion; Williams seconded. After a roll-call check of members present, the chair recessed the public meeting and stated, "I'm calling executive session," indicating the motion carried and the committee would convene in closed session to discuss the pending legal matter.
The transcript records that Miss Gumbs was not online and had not accepted the remote-invite at the time the committee recessed. Staff reminded online participants to accept meeting invitations and asked those physically present to leave the Zoom meeting before the closed session began.
No other substantive discussion or details about the litigation were provided on the public record prior to the executive session. The committee did not announce a timetable for returning to open session on the record.
