The contractor said the neighbor supported the adjustment; the building permit had been issued and construction was underway.
Board members asked questions about the nature of the underground conduit and hardship; the applicant said the conduit is a metal conduit in concrete footer that feeds dock power. After discussion, the board moved to grant the variance for freestanding shade structures, finding the hardship was not self-created, and recorded the motion and roll-call approval.
