The board accepted a rezoning petition to change a 4.93-acre parcel at the corner of Yandell and North Old Canton from Planned Unit Development (PUD) to C2 commercial zoning.
Dave Clements, identified as the owner of Deerfield Golf Club and speaking for Camp Fishlake LLC, told the board that the parcel "is currently zoned as PUD, and we wanna get it changed to C2." Board members questioned the zoning map, noting that more than half of the lot appeared on the zoning map as A1 in error. Speaker 6 said the map was incorrect and would be corrected, referencing platting work done by J.D. Rankin in the 1970s to explain the recorded PUD boundary.
Speaker 2 moved to accept the petition request; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The board did not provide a roll-call tally in the transcript. The petition acceptance advances the rezoning process to the next administrative or public-notice steps as required by local procedure.
