Superintendent reports LDOE commendation and announces staff stipends, Thanksgiving break

Dr. Sanders reported the special education department received commendations from the Louisiana Department of Education for achieving favorable results on the disproportionality factor in special-education evaluations. She also announced the district will distribute state-guided stipends: certified staff will receive $2,000 and support staff $1,000, funded from the district general fund, with payouts scheduled for Dec. 12, 2025.
Dr. Sanders reminded families that progress reports had gone home and that the district's SPS accountability scores for the 24/25 year were expected to be released by LDOE soon; the district will publish a press release once scores are official. She also noted the Thanksgiving break will run Nov. 24-28 and wished students and families well.
Her remarks included brief sports updates and community event commendations for staff involvement.
