At-a-glance: Committee approves resignation, trips, donations, handbooks and payroll warrants

Freetown-Lakeville — The Freetown-Lakeville Regional School Committee took a series of routine but consequential votes at its Nov. 12 meeting.

Key outcomes

- Accepted the resignation of school committee member Crystal Ng, effective immediately. Motion moved and seconded; chair called for the vote and the motion passed.

- Approved two DECA overnight out-of-state field trips (sports and entertainment marketing conference in Orlando, Jan. 28–Feb. 1, and a Providence event). Motion passed.

- Accepted donations of an acoustic guitar and several sets of golf clubs for ARHS music and athletic programs and accepted two gallons of paint donated to district facilities to support touch-ups from the Eagle Scout project. Motions passed.

- Approved updated 2025–26 school handbooks that incorporate DESE-required edits (suspension/due-process language and an AI policy). Motion passed.

- Adopted competency determination policy IKFE and graduation policy IKF (both called for second readings and were adopted). Motions passed.

- Approved payroll vendor warrants (dated 10/29/25) and approved regular-session minutes from Oct. 22, 2025; one member abstained from the minutes vote because they were not present for that meeting.

All motions were moved and seconded and carried as announced by the chair. Where recorded, members voiced thanks and recognition for service and presentations. No motions failed or were tabled during the session; the committee adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
