County planning staff previewed a plat for an eight‑lot subdivision in the Palmarie area (San Pedro Ranch Estates) and said the applicant has asked for a waiver from the requirement to pave about a quarter‑mile of private road. In exchange, the developer offered to hard‑surface an apron on Pomerine Road at San Pedro Ranch Road.
Planner Matthew told supervisors the private road would remain private and the developer will assume ongoing maintenance under a mandatory road maintenance agreement required by subdivision regulations. The applicant said paving that section would be cost‑prohibitive and might cause the development not to proceed, staff added.
