The Bettendorf Community School District board completed routine organizational business at the start of the meeting, electing officers and approving consent items.
During the roll call for board president, members nominated Director Castro and the motion carried 6–1. The board then selected a vice president and administered oaths for those officers. The board moved and seconded approval of the meeting agenda and the consent agenda; roll calls recorded approval for both items.
Later in the meeting the board considered a motion to name the Quad City Times as the district’s official newspaper for required legal notices and publications; discussion included whether to table the selection to allow the new board to review legal counsel options. The board also moved to approve a resolution naming district depositories and proceeded to roll call for that measure.
There were no controversial policy votes recorded beyond standard organization and financial housekeeping. The meeting concluded after staff reviewed upcoming workshops and the board approved a motion to adjourn.
